Visions of Hope for Europe and beyond

Concept

Based on the three-year cycle of cross disciplinary international conferences organised by the European University of Rome from 2023 to 2025, the closed-door meeting “Visions of Hope for Europe and beyond” is organised by the European University of Rome (EUR) and the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) to address major subjects that affect our current geopolitical and socio-economic situation in Europe. It aims to create a space of exchange between EU policymakers and researchers from academia to spur discussions regarding the future of Europe, stemming from the concept of Hope.

The event will aim to:

  • Discuss the projects on which the researchers of the HOPE initiative are working, which are related to EU areas of competence and current policies and can support the work of EU policymakers
  • Shape a moment of sincere exchange and dialogue between the consortium’s researchers and EU policymakers, elaborating on possible avenues of collaboration and further research, in order to contribute to EU policies that are human-centred, data-driven and close to citizens’ needs
  • Create a space of connections between academia and EU policymaking, especially in view of the next 5-year mandate of the European parliament, to spur further contacts and synergies to develop in the future

The research project is promoted in view of the Jubilee of 2025, dedicated to the theme of Hope.
