Bio

Vassilissa Carangio holds a Ph.D. in the discipline of Work and Organization Studies from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. She taught a broad range of business and liberal arts subjects at various institutions in Australia. She was a visiting research fellow at the University of Warwick in the UK and an alumna at the Black Europe summer school (BESS) at the International Institute for Research and Education in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her doctoral research on skilled immigration within the Australian job market was funded by the Swinburne Premier Research award (Chancellor’s Research Scholarship CRS). Dr. Carangio also holds an MA in Communications (combined BA/MA) from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, where she completed a Master’s thesis in political economy (summa cum laude). Besides academia, she has extensive experience in working and studying in multicultural/multinational environments internationally. Dr. Carangio currently teaches management courses in two different US campuses in Italy.

Interessi di ricerca

Dr Carangio’s research interests include inequalities in organizational settings, anti-racism in organizations, skilled immigration, and whiteness studies.
